Not flame. I love to see how they spin their declining profits and pretend that AI will somehow "streamline" operations. I was reading Starbucks' Q4 and it almost read like one of my parody articles. Sales are flat, but CFO David Goldstein is highly optimistic about their new Return to Basics strategy!

I’m looking to buy 10% stakes in small regional banks with under $1bn in assets and founder/owner CEOs over 55. A 10% stake in these is usually worth about $3 million. I kind of want to setup a fund that does nothing but this. Most of these banks are trading at 0.8 of tangible book value because the OCC makes it so hard to just buy up controlling stakes but a fund that just owns blocking stakes in say 50 of these can then be flipped to a bigger PE play at what is hopefully full book value. That’s my big idea of 2026….
