A 10% stake in these is usually worth about $3 million. I kind of want to setup a fund that does nothing but this. Most of these banks are trading at 0.8 of tangible book value because the OCC makes it so hard to just buy up controlling stakes but a fund that just owns blocking stakes in say 50 of these can then be flipped to a bigger PE play at what is hopefully full book value. That’s my big idea of 2026….
