I just have a lot of documents from discovery and stuff to store and run through AI stuff. thats the main thing. like a couple million pages overall over a year or two. civil lit not PI. I use Clio.

is this a good one:

Refurbished 15-inch MacBook Air Apple M5 chip with 10‑Core CPU and 10‑Core GPU - Starlight

Now $1,269.00

whats a low end one? i looked on the mac refurbish site and they were higher priced than the one one on best buy. i am fine buying a low end one but don't want a screen less than ~14 inches.

Yeah that's fine. Or just get the brand new m5 13 inch air, I think it starts at 1299 now (lol). RAM matters more probably for what you are using it for, so if you want to save money get an m3 or m4 at with more ram.

Yah now that I think about it and especially since you said no 13 inch get a 15 inch macbook air m4 or m5 with 24 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD. Would optimize for greater RAM and SSD for what you are using it for. I don't think you need high cpu/gpu performance so I wouldn't bother with the 14 inch pro or optimizing toward cpu.

yeah dropbox and cloud storage are for redundancy, you want a big hard drive on top of that, plus more convenient. not joking. Maybe you thought it was a joike because 1TB seems excessive? I don't think so. I think 512 is doable. Anything below that hell no.
