stouts are dark because of how they roast the malts not anything else. Guniness has a heavier creamy mouthfeel because it's a nitro beer.
Light beers are liteally diluted with water so they will be lighter in color.
And there is probably a correlation of more dark beers and calories because of beer recipes. So it's a fine rule of thumb but not the final word. |

That stout-- the one with the thick head that lasts throughout the pint is pretty low in alcohol actually and, in my experience, is not as filling as a lot of other beers. People think it is strong because it looks strong, but it is actually rather light. A good pint in a good pub with good company is probably my favorite beer, and they go down easy |
