If you master the 5 pentatonic positions you'll be able to pick up any guitar or bass and jam with almost any rock/pop song in any key. Just 5 pentatonic shapes and this whole pattern can be moved up and down the neck to line up with different root notes for their scale. This chart is A minor and C major at the same time. If you wanted to make it A major you'd slide it down 3 frets so that the orange shape starts its low note on A.
