(i) Even though the show is about the journey, if the ending is bad people feel the need not to pick it up. Lost is a apt comparison. How many people will pick up watching either show if they know the end is bad?
(ii) The show is over and it was already so popular at its peak, there isn't really room for it to pick up new viewers. Contrast taht with Suits, which is a much worse show, but it was popular during the pandemic because everyoe is like "Well - i guess i've never seen thsi show before".
(iii) People talk about pop culture much less in general. Politics and the culture war dominate the conversation. |

It didn’t cause me to look back at the earlier seasons and conclude it was all garbage.
