Maybe something to do with tons of olds liquidating investments and consuming but not producing anything?

boomers out of control spending their kids’ inheritance

my friend’s mom retired two years ago and has spent $300k on absolutely nothing

Groceries, gas and restaurants here aren't more than other places when I travel and often less. Housing remains absurdly hot. Migration here continues which means there's a shortage of everything.

Ron DeShabbos spent the last year visiting Israel and shopping for 4" heels rather than managing the state.

All of our problems relate to too much demand to move here. Doesn't sound like a "mismanagement" problem.

if you didn't plan ahead for the demand it is. it was entirely foreseeable that Florida would spike in popularity given that it's a retirement destination and boomers are an extremely large generation that has started to retire. It is entirely the fault of DeSantis as well as the governor before him + legislature in not planning ahead.

Florida is actually significantly less attractive for retirement now than a whole bunch of places. Simply too expensive. It is most attractive for high HHI remote workers and businesses.

Some of this is just inherent to high demand. What exactly do you imagine the government was supposed to do about it?
