yes non-solo lawyers basically have the worst of both worlds
people who run a business are always on the clock because they have to be, but they get all the upside that comes with that (you're the boss)
wagecucks take PTO and fuck off
salaried lawyers are both always on the clock and have to serve their overlords. but hey, at least you get paid 300000k and can participate in the net worth threads!

In big law, no, except for my honeymoon. Every vacation and often every holiday had significant work.
In house, mostly no work but there’s still an expectation that you check email a couple times a day and at least have some presence if necessary.
