at 2 my kid would see the search engine on the computer and say "goog!"

He also like to read signs while riding in the car:

PIZZA! DANGER! DUMFRIES!

I walked my dog near a school and past a sign that said "No Dogs" and at 2 he called me out and pointed to the sign.

They can start to read just as soon as you signal that it is important. ABC songs online over and over and over again, A is for apple, B is for Ball. And Dr. Seuss readings together over and over again

You go over it, move your finger over the words, show the silly pictures and do it in different voices. Read it REACTIVELY, like excited, and talk about how silly this or how dirty the cat is--as asides while you are reading. Make it like YOU are engaged with the dumb story.

You know you are on the right track if the next morning they get up and flip open the books themselves and start moving their finger over the words and talking jibber jabber
