Earning my kepi blanc would make me disciplined and tough, maybe even darken my milky white complexion. I'd become a risk taker (I joined the FFL, after all), dabbling in gray markets, arms deals, and vaguely defined import/export businesses of questionable legality and even more questionable partners.
After spending a few years developing contacts taming the locals in far flung desert and jungle outposts of the French empire, I'd adopt a new identity, distinctly French, with an air of mystery and danger. |
