Date: January 29th, 2007 12:49 PM Author: startled emerald nowag newt some profs are good. there are a few all-star profs (thel, kainen, capra) that people fall all over themselves to take. there are also a bunch of shitty profs, and there seem to be a whole bunch of female HLS grads that are teaching bec they just had kids, and they're not the most premium profs.
career services blows. they will lie to you with a straight face. but, if you are in the top third and you have an OK personality, then you're OK for biglaw. if you're in the top half, it's possible if you're lucky.
general technology services are so-so. the internet doesn't really work all the time (probably works 80%-90% of the time). the way you print off your laptop is retarded.
fordham is also in a weird part of manhattan. it's not really that much fun to live right by the school (it's a wasteland of highrises) so a lot of people live on the UWS (20 min commute) or scattered around the city. if you don't live in the dorms, it's hard to meet people.
everyone went to cornell or upenn. there's a lot of ex-frat guys/sorority girls, and they're keeping that tradition alive by going to cheesy clubs and bars. that's not really my scene, so i don't hang out with them a lot, but if that's what you like you'll fit right in.
one thing that really bothered me was that there's almost no support for 1L summer. it's pretty hard to get a paying job, and it's really hard to get money from fordham. mostly it seems like they make you fend for yourself, and for some students this means forsaking legal work that summer, which probably fucks them over for OCI.
my locker is not in the bathroom, but i still hate the location.
the girls who work at the deli across the street are the biggest bitches ever. the guys who work there are pretty cool. |

She could appeal the decision, but I can't imagine anyone on any disciplinary committee would feel bad for her.
I agree no drinks in the library is a stupid rule, but you can't act autonomously like she did. Just not acceptable in society. |
