What ETE Fails To Understand About The Term "Elite"

In polite society, wealth and blueblood lineage recognizes wealth and blueblood lineage, much in the same way cultured or sophisticated individuals can sniff out those of less (or lower) birth almost immediately. The first tell-tale sign that someone is *NOT* "elite", is that they refer to themselves as such. This offends latter day gentleman's etiquette.
An analogy can be drawn between (A) people who call themselves "Elite" simply because they attend an ivy league school, and (B) the "New Rich" or "New Money", who can be easily identified by their gaudy dress, conspicuous consumption, or penchant for self-aggrandizement.
Going to HYP does *NOT*, in and of itself, make you "elite". Especially if mere *acceptance* into HYP is your life's crowning acheivement. Those who are truly "elite" are those who are 5th, 6th, and 7th Generation HYP, whose family's net worth ranges in (at least) the 7-9 figures, and/or presumably whose lineage can be traced back to the Mayflower (or at the very least, the American Revolution). An exception is often made for those gentlemen/ladies born into foreign royalty or foreign aristocracy (of which ETE is neither).
Polite society would never recognize "ETE" as a gentleman, and most certainly not as a member of the "elite" class, because he simply does not spawn from the lineage nor heritage from which the term is a derivitive.
Even if ETE were to graduate top of his class at Columbia, and become President and CEO of a multi-million Fortune 500 company, he would *still* not be "elite", for the reasons above. With (a) wise investment; (b) sound judgment; and (c) a touch of class...ETE may well be able to start his own dynasty here in the United States, of which his great-grandchildren and their kin may be able to benefit from being dubbed "elite". However, "class" is an inherent trait which cannot be purchased at any price. Sadly, ETE hasn't even a semblance of "class" about him. This remarkable deficiency in his character will forever prohibit him from entering the esteemed realm of the "elite".
